Suppose Tony and Reese each made, say, one knife each of three different patterns (six knives in total.) and didn't stamp the blades. Would you "Bose freaks" be able to tell, (WITH CERTAINTY) which maker made each knife?

Jim Taylor.

Yep...despite the similarities in patterns, they each have subtle differences. If you have seen enough of both you can tell. JT

Good question, I don't think I could tell, but then again I haven't seen enough. Between the one of each I've had over my short life both were top notch. My Tony Bose had more snap than my Reese Bose but that may be due to pattern more than anything else or steel (one was ATS-34 the other was D2).

I will have Tony and Reese make the same knife and send them to me this week. I will let you know for certain if I can tell the difference...

In response to all but espc. Kerry's first post of, Yes".
I won't say, "Baloney", but "Baloney"......

And to you fellows who might really be able to differentiate between by Mr. Tony and Mr. Reese,
'Good on Ya'.....I'd be drooling too much to be able to differentiate!!!!
And I don't make a bad slipjoint, I am just in awe of the skill and workmanship of Tony and Reese's knives....

Im serious. I think I COULD tell the difference, especially if the knives were the exact same pattern, same handle material, everything the same. If they were different knives it would be very difficult.

Without the benefit of sight, I would rely on comparing how they work first. I'm not sure if you could FEEL a difference in finish between the two. That would be dang near impossible. But, I'm guessing and don't think that I will ever see the planets aligned in such a way as to ever experience this test.

OK Kerry, If that is the case, then I could easily be envious of your having handled that many of their knives
