I'm with James on getting a waxed sheath for a survival knife.

Matt,

Welcome to the forum. I use a Spec Ops Sheath for my Model 14; also works for a 18. Check it out for another option.

Same here, Special Ops sheath and a Wave Leatherman in the pouch, along with a pencil Ezelap sharpener.

Great set-up Pap. I have used the oversized pouch for a multi-tool, works great.

Hahahahaha. I'm like why does he need a pencil sharpener when he has this awesome knife. And than I looked it up.

Three days in the woods with 18 and what a fantastic blade that is. Got my brown sheath in the trade and couldn't be more happier with a setup. Also I took all the paracord out of it and stored it in the handle. I was wearing it on day one and it was riding low exposing the entire knife so I was wondering how can I make it ride higher and than boom that's what the holes in the loop are for (I'm little slow I know). Now the knife handle is under my shirt and fit is even better. Knife is perfect for the camp use and all around chores. This isn't a real knife test or anything just dad camping with two of his little kids but I can't wait to get it out into a real backcountry next month.

I make a hiride sheath where the top of the beltloop is at the hilt.
