Hello everyone, Thanks to Kent Harrison and Rhett for this old information regarding dealer specials. I have been asked some "follow-up" questions. It appears that what was going to happen and hold true 10 years ago is not always the case. Let me clarify a point. "BOTH" blade lengths of my "Stanaback Special", i.e. the 4" and the 4 5/8" are "still" available and will continue to be available in stainless steel "only".. When Kent first wrote this story for Blade magazine, I was in the middle of a transition to a carbon steel forging of my special in 4 5/8". That single forging never worked out well enough to justify loosing the very popular 4" stainless steel version, which I would have had to do in order to keep the stainless and carbon longer version. Something had to go...The carbon steel "went". I hope this is clearer than mud.. Best, Capt. Chris Stanaback

Hello Guido That is a beautiful set of knives that you have pictured there. Your photos are always a class act. If I may ask, who's dealer special is it pictured, 2nd from the right, top row, just above the CRIDER SPECIAL. Thank-You for your time and again, a beautiful collection.

Guido, I'm confused. by Michael's post and your response. Stoddard's special is not a Trailblazer. It is the "Sargeant's Special", which you have pictured. The "Trailblazer" (or now #27) is above the "Crider Special" and an "A.G. Russell Special" is above the other "Crider Special"...Which ones are both of ya'll talking about. I speak with Michael all of the time...and usually "we" don't need an interpreteur. This post, however, is the exception. Clear this up for me guys. Thanks. Best, Capt. Chris
Rhett, this's more than a lesson at Columbia University ! I printed it out and I will study untill to learn everything( almost ) little by little... Thanks again for this GREAT post. Have a nice and peaceful Easter Hugs Guido
