Love the high degree of polish on the hilt (you can see the reflection of the hammered skulls in the bottom photo).

Are the hilt and butt cap brass, copper, something else? They look almost like brass in the top photo, but more copper-y in the other photos.

Bob-
The guard and butt cap are copper. You are right, they are highly polished. The photos don't really do the knives justice. The combination of spacers and Jame's choice of stag was spot on. One of small things that really impresses me, is how they clean up the soldering junction between the blade and the guard. It is always very clean and smooth.

If you ever get around to it, could you put all your boys together for a family shot? I'd love to see your BMK family in one shot.

I second this OUTSTANDING idea!!!!

Gerry,

It's a great knife; the spacers work beautifully with the stag (and I love leather spacers on pretty much everything) and the polished copper just glows.

Your comments are dead on...the BMK "detail" work is second to none. Their blades have a clean look and the handles sit perfectly in the hand. Jim and Grant are great to work with, and go out of their way to make sure everything is just right. I've become a big fan very quickly.

Congrats again on a wicked cool addition to your collection.

P.S. I'd also love to see a group shot of Warren's BMK brood.

Bob, Gerry, James, Steve,

Thanks so much for the kind words guys . I'm extremely pleased to be able to get exactly what I want and the guys at BMK are just pumping out some fabulous work. As for the group shot, I do plan on doing this but I have a few more pieces that are in the future.

Warren,
I can't wait to see the rest of your brood. I'm pulling the trigger on another "ghost" knife to continue the theme I've started with the Mission and Bowie.
I too really enjoy working with the BMK fellows. Grant tells me that someone else did ten knives. Sounds like the gauntlet has been thrown.

Gerry,

We'll LOL, there's a few here that are keeping the forge in Missoula busy. Chief and GCTom are always stoking the fire and a few others. Good luck with your new project.

OK guys , they just seem to be coming out daily. Here's a re-handle from a 1914 Swiss Sawback Bayonet that I got from a friend who deals in antique Swiss weapons and was gifted as a user. Yes it was cool just as is but it needed a facelift. James did just that and I hope you like it. BTW these are real sawteeth and very lethal. Reach out and touch someone.
Here's a few before and an after photos.
