I went on a cruise and I never saw it before I left. The day I returned, it was on the site. By the time that I made it home two days later....gone. I snoozed.[/quote]

I did too LOL... But I had just gotten a really cool #8 that same day so it sorta made it alright

Change the handle from leather to micarta.
Change the brass hilt to nickel silver.
Leave the spacers red, white & blue.
Reasoning: micarta is more resistant to wet environments and less slippery than G10; nickel-silver tarnishes much less than brass; and red-white-blue is for the good old U S of A!

Sounds very good to me, Steve!

Yep. Thumb notches, on any knife, and wrist thong are definite must haves.

Shop red/blue micarta would do the trick.

We only have three (chargeable) options left.

WT would be useful, but it can be done outside of the shop if it's a genUine user (yeah, I know, blasphemy). You could throw out NS1 to keep WT but I'm not a huge fan of brass on a "user" knife.

And don't forget thumb notches.

I think a WT is a must and would definitely sacrifice thumb notches if necessary to get it. I had to go swimming once to retrieve a knife and got lucky to even get it back. I don't want to have to do that again.

#7-5
#6 grind
SS
NS hilt
Thumb notches
Red/Blue shop supplied Micarta handle
Wrist thong
All Black spacers (n/c)
Somebody earlier talked about cleaning the blood off of a filet/fishing knife (Chief or Billy??), and that makes a lot of sense in considering NS, all black spacers and red/blue micarta....AND, "There will be blood"......especially if it will truly be a "user". And, a wrist thong on a fishing knife in any water more than ankle deep makes sense for my use.....& especially when your buddy says, "Hey, can I see your really cool knife?"
And yeah, I'm pretty sure I have 6 vs. 5....(really not certain)....BUT....I have 2 pickled blades....1 Randall Hunter/Hiker/Everything and 1 Ruana filet...my other filet is an unpick led Randall that I slip back in the kitchen drawer when back from the coast...& my wonderful wife pretends she didn't notice. Pickled has been great for these......& I wanted Carbon anyway......WAH-WAH -WAH!!

No need for a crow's beak, it's a fishing knife not a birding knife...
