Thanks Capt. wasn't sure.

to answer Jerry's question, I have several Model's with the top edge sharpened, Model 8,5,4 and I like think the upturned blade with the top edge sharpened on the Model seven (much like the old style Model 8) would be a great trout gutter.

just my opinion.

thanks max

I like the way Peter put it, BRIGHT micarta would be very cool, but something different if applicable.

* Alum. & red spacers
* waxed no-hone sheath

Grinding the above list down to five options...

SS blade
Thumb Notches
#6 grind
NS1 (Nickel Silver single hilt)
CW (TBD)

Waxed no-hone sheath is a "freebie option" that would be useful.

If you wanted to change up the spacers without chewing up a chargeable option, perhaps something like "all red" or "all black".

I would not say it's a "freebie option" it's like a $10 upgrade I think, but what that should be a "given" on this build

that sounds cool Billy, but loose the #6 grind, keep it a Model 7.

The 6 grind is a great option when compared to the regular grind IMHO. I would also go with the squared hilt and thumb notches. I have a blue/red micarta and it is an awesome handle material. For a fishing knife a wrist thong is handy in case it slips. So here it is for me:

Model 7-5
SS blade
#6 grind
NS squared hilt
Thumb notches
Wrist thong
All red spacers
Blue/red micarta

I might be over the 5 options, so Cap can confirm. If so, I'd drop the NS hilt for the brass.
