Keep the 7 and make all the rest a memory.

Model 8 is so cool, but I vote to drop it from this build.

It's early yet, and it looks like the 8 is going, but (here we go again Capt!!) I agree with Max....send the 6 on its way. A nicely optioned "practical" knife that can be worn on the hip, doesn't get in the way, and does a multitude of tasks well. A "jack of all trades" if you will. One you forget is on your hip when you get back in the car. Neither end of the spectrum fits that bill, somewhere in the middle is where it's at.

Drop the 4 and go for the 7. The 8 is a great trout knife and will also clean and scale a bream, but not much of a filet knife. If you are looking for the "almost" perfect fishing knife, the 7-5 with a 6 grind is about as close as you can get. A 6" would be better but not there.

So okay we're building a "fishing" and not a "filet" knife. My very favorite carry around day-to-day, has been in lots of whitetails & Gobblers is my #8 Old Style, bought from Perry Miller. My two most favorite filet knives which have also become my "fishing knives" have been on my belt (1 or the other) whenever I've been lucky enough to go for years.
BUT 1 ain't a Randall & we're not building the other. My favorite....& best Randall Fishing knife.....I don't own yet. So drop the 8.

Quick tally shows the 8 may be out like a fat kid in dodge ball.
