Probably looking at the base knife as a Model 7-5 with a #6 grind and stailess blade. Then comes the other 4 options.

Stainless blade and #6 grind is "2" options Mike. Denmark comes with the #6 grind...but it ain't 5 inches long.
Best, Capt. Chris

It's there a real world difference between a 4-1/2" blade and a 5"?? I'm sure the wise guys, myself included, would say "why yes, it's a half inch!!" I doubt that for any of the tasks the Capt listed anyone would notice it.

The Denmark and the 7-5 #6 grind, in my eyes, are essentially the same knife. I'd build either one. Stainless makes more sense for a fishing knife, but I still prefer carbon.

Cheif makes a good point, just that will be a big a$$ knife. I believe we set out to make something "all" purpose. 9 inches of blade is more useful at home as opposed to out and about, boats, woods, etc...

Man....I am glad to be back in town (kind of)...but mainly to see this build going and so many great ideas/options! So....sorry guys, but now I'll throw in a couple of my own 2cent thoughts. Love to fish... AND, love to catch now and then....whatever size, whatever is biting and wherever I'm lucky enough to go! And always need a knife (or 3) to cut....everything.

AND I have loved being lucky enough to carry, wear & use a few Randalls over the years.
Sure hope to be fortunate enough to continue. There's so many great options and agree with Chief, Pappy....several guys....and Capt. Chris has 3-5 ready to go on his web site.
I'll post a couple of my favorite users and say keep the #4-6"; #6 grind; #7-5; or larger....add options from there.
