A friend of mine gave this to me several years ago. He's a collector of Swiss military rifles and bayonet's. These were issued with Schmidt-Rubin rifles of the period. It's missing the scabbard and leather frog but it's one hell of a cool piece nonetheless. This thing has some real sawteeth that are very sharp.
Here's some facts and info that I was able to get off the net.

Blade Length - 18.9" (480mm)
Handle Length - 4.9" (124mm)
Total Length - 24" (610mm)
Muzzle Ring Diameter - .56" (14.2mm)
Issued with : Schmidt-Rubin Models 1911 Carbine, K31
Manufacturers: Elsener Schwyz, H.S., H.St., Waffenfabrik Neuhausen

Description: The Model 1914 differs from earlier sawtooth models with the addition of the bulge at the end of the blade. Also, the 1914 is fullered on only one side. A musician's variant also exists, where the handle groove is filled in.

The Model 1914 was issued to only select troops. When issued with K31s the were issued to:

- Genie Truppen
(Engineers)
-Fahrerkorporale und beritten Wacthmeister der Artillerie
(Driver Corporals and mounted artillery Sergeants)
-Hufschmeid, Hufschmeid -Gefreite, -Korporal, -wacthmeister
(blacksmiths, blacksmith Private First Classes or lance corporal, blacksmith Sergeants.)
-Trainsoldaten, traingefreite, trainkorporal, trainwacthmeister
(Horse transport soldiers, PFCs, corporals and sergeants)
-Sattlers
(Saddle makers)
- Fahrer Feld Artillerie, Fahrer Feld Haubitze, Fahrer Schwer Feld Haubitze,
(Drivers for Motorized Field Artillery, Howitzers and Heavy Howitzers)

Thank you. The search continues for the metal scabbard which by itself is a tough item to find. Somewhere is the companion rifle with the matching serial number, an even tougher find.
Overall it's an impressive blade with the sawteeth being it's greatest attribute.

Yeah Pappy you think? Consider the infantry bayonet's were far shorter. The rifle plus the saw bayonet must be close to six feet in length.

Here is a Rare American Issued Bayonet from 1916. A cool looking eagle beak-hook on the pommel. I just listed it on eBay.

FYI, it just sold on eBay. Took less than 5 hours.
