Captain:

For a Brad Angier model 5 sheath, which type of keeper strap would he have had and would the sheath have a hone pocket?

Thanks.

Doug

Need to know how old the #5 is before getting a definitive answer. I think the older the knife, it's a little different. My 1975 version of the Brad had 2 keepers.

Diagonal keeper strap and a 6" blade. You probably know the rest"
* Model 5-6"
* Carbon steel
* Nickel silver single hilt
* Squared top
* Black micarta handle
* Compass installed
(Can't remember if it had a wrist thong or not but mine would.
Hope this helps, Capt. Chris
PS: I'd have a waxed Model "A" sheath, with hone pocket also...CCS

Yes, it does come with a wrist thong.

I'm guilty of not searching the whole forum, but its so much easier to ask a question when you know the Captain knows the answer... so...is getting a commando handle "flattened" from the shop do-able, like from the late 70s/early 80s?

I wonder how much it costs if cast hilt and butt cap of 925 silver?
As far as I know, the price of 1 gram on the stock exchange about 0.5-1$
Example, #21 reduced hilt + butt plate.
While not going to order in the near future, but are interested in who can do and ~order price.
I would be grateful for your advice smile

I would imagine the cost of pure silver hardware has gone down a bit with the slide in silver prices but what you need to take under consideration is the primary cost has always been in the smelting, casting, milling and creating just the right piece for the shop to work with and those costs have not changed.

Thanks! I know the cost of work may be from 100 to 300% and
more of the price material and not even always depends
on the material. It's like a good jeweler, he can make a
beautiful engraving, that simple steel ring will be very
expensive.

I just guess it's about $ 1500-2000.
While this is only my assumption.

It would be desirable to know the opinion of those who real
ordered the knives with silver fittings or opinion dealers smile

Here, at the forum, I happened to see a couple of examples,
it looks really awesome!
