I am a real D-2 fan. I once skinned an entire bear including the paws and never had to sharpen. Never had another blade material be able to do that.

This steel is hard to sharpen and you may need to re do the angle of the edge completely.
This is a big job with that grade of steel and may need machines to put the angle back on.
