It is with great sadness that I post that my good friend and mentor Grady McCotter has passed. He was an armrorer for the Marine Corps building rifles and pistols for shooting teams and active duty snipers. He was an artist at restoring old Randalls and their sheaths . He was an avid Randall collector and one of a kind at restoration of sheaths and blades. He was also a very good friend to me teaching me many things about how he perfected his leather restoration process (RKCC #2 article). It is hard to put in writing his talents and my mind is foggy now but RKCC has lost a very good member.

Mike, Thanks for the phone call. As I told you, it was easy to "visit" with Grady on the phone for an hour at a time! I'll miss him. I am glad we had the opportunity to post his sheath restoration article (and he to read it and enjoy it) before his passing. I know Grady was in his late 60's but he sure left us: A) Way too soon and B) Missing the best sheath restorer around...period! He will be missed. Respectfully submitted, Captain Chris Stanaback
