Hmmm, I guess I shouldn't have been so certain then. I was going by what the seller said probably 10 years ago and the difference in feel to ones with paper micarta I've held.. I guess I'll be venturing out to find out for sure this weekend. My luck, your probably right.
I have a 13-6 with virtually identical handle material,it was confirmed as white paper micarta by Jason when he held the actual knife,mine too was described as Ivory when I bought it from a dealer in the UK,you live and learn.

It's an easy mistake to make. The paper micarta was not in use for very long due to the checking and cracking issues. The lines on the side of your handle are pretty standard with the material.
