John Can you explain how you get such amazing scans
are you photoshopping the backgrounds
I find I can get much depth of field
are you using highest dpi then shrinking the image in ps
I'm a newb

You got it right RAN. I use "all" the scanner can give me. In this case it's 24 bit. (and better scanners can give more) I kind of think of that as a RAW Image file and I can alter it later.

I lay the Knife or Knives in the position I want and then lay various things over the whole bed. In this case a piece of wood.

Then you can take that RAW image it in to PhotoShop or PhotoPaint. I have also been playing with a new one for me…Aperture (jury is still out on it)

My limitation are only the file has to be under 100k
