My first Behring knife, and I really love it. As a lefty, finger grips are my bane. I cannot tell you how many knives I have seen that I wanted, and then, right handed finger grips. frown I guess it has saved me some money.

I saw one of these on the Behring site a few months ago, and emailed to see if they could do one that would work for a lefty. I went to South Africa last year, and saw many amazing animals, but the Gemsbok or Oryx was my favorite. Its just really striking. Grant got right back to me and said they had a piece that would work well left handed.

Well it finally arrived today, and I couldn't be more thrilled. Its really stout, and its got a great heft. Even though its in the "fat stag" class, its very grip-able. Its interesting that while you can grip it right handed, its really a much better fit left handed. Must have been a lefty Gemsbok grin

Really happy to have this one, brings back great memories of that trip.

Many thanks to Behring Made for an awesome knife.

Jay L

Jay, Thank you for sharing photos of your new addition... it's an outstanding knife! I really like the look of the gemsbok handle with the nickel silver hardware. You picked out a great "first" Behring Made!

I appreciate the positive feedback, I can't remember the last time a purchase made me feel this satisfied.

All design credit goes to the fellas at Behring Made. They do great work. I thought the nickel sivler really set this off, and the copper pulls out the tan-ish colors of the horn in the low spots. Far too soon to be looking at the FWI stuff up there on the their site now. Far too soon.

As for user status, I know this may make some of you cringe, but so far all my knives are fastidiously cared for users. I figure a tool is just happier if its being used. I had such a good time in South Africa, I gave away my model 28 to my brother in law who lives there, so this one will take its place on my hip in the outdoors.

I snapped those photos in a hurry on the porch, and i can see my red shirt in almost everyone of them. What can I say, photography just isn't my thing.

That is one of the nicest knives I've ever seen. I love that knife! Congrats to you.
