I am told that the Smooth Back started in about 1985, and I bought a naked Smithsonian that appears to be from earlier.

If I am off on the start date for the Smooth Backs, please correct my information.

And if you happen upon a Rough Back that would be great!

Thanks,
Larry

Smoothback's are more in the 1990 era Larry. I have a custom made Johnson Rough Back for a Smith here in one of the safes...

I can hope....

A nominal 11-inches. Of course, the actual measurement is 10 27/32-inches, but what is 5/32 of an inch among friends?

Thanks for helping and keeping an eye out.

Got one. Don't need two.
