Mitchell,

That is one amazing Loveless collection; interested in seeing what that goes for!

My guess would be total cost would average out to $20,000-$30,000 per blade.

Not much of a fan, as although he bragged about him preferring his knives went to users rather than collectors, he told THIS broke college student that his $150 boot knife priced 5yrs previous was now $1200. Also, suchlike when he went to Japan, visited, watched, studied a bit, and made a tanto, he planned/knew then it would be invaluable, marked it, had very fancy engraved certificate made up for it and etc.

Still remember him fueding with forged knife makers, hyping his acid etch mark as stronger than stampings on forged blades, claiming a stamp weakened a blade, which is by and large known to be a quite bogus assertion.

But as with Randall, very few the knifemakers who have not imitated his designs, which were and are elegant, and aging very well, the mark of visionary classics.

How could you not like that Old Bowie Sub-hilt; center knife. That piece is awesome. According to the tag above it only 3 were made. Looks Big Bear"ish" in some respects.

Those are ALL Delware's - some very large bucks are in play here!

Is it safe to say that these knives were made before the development of his classic "Loveless style" -- a full, taped tang like these...

There are a couple of VERY early Loveless knives in the Randall museum.

I am not sure if it sold or not. The listing says it did, but there are no results in the realized price list for lot 610. It would be interesting to know.

Mitchell - I looked at as well & was also surprised that no numbers were given. Given the nature of the knives - a realized price should be given - IMO.
