You are not incorrect Tune! I just paid (exactly) double previous rates for my "3rd" choice of Hotels. The reason? Atlanta Braves are "Home" from: May 28th...thru...June 3rd, 2018!! UGH, Capt. Chris
In the past three or four years I have been told by more than two people who habitually made hotel reservations very early that those hotels then later cancelled their reservations in the time just before the Blade Show.
These people have been so disappointed that they told me they will never bother going back to Blade.
They received no explanation from the hotels, but we could speculate that the room rates were increased above what they had been quoted, and the hotels simply resold the rooms.

Larry, I have never had that experience, but I appreciate the heads up. I am booked at another Marriott property, so I am pretty comfortable with them.
Cap, I told Janie I bet it had to do with the new stadium location, but I had not checked the calendar.
I don't know if this has anything to do with the problem, but weeks after this post show, Blade sent an email to ALL those who were cancelled because of the over booking problem and offered a guaranteed reservation as long as we booked that week...

Sounds like Blade should move to someplace new, like Nashville. Nothing like the Opryland Hotel.

Opryland Hotel has plenty of room and hosts BIG venues all the time - 30 minutes from the house so it gets my vote. It's a tourist attraction in it's own right for those that have never been inside.
Wonder if there's any place to park an RV down there?
