So... I am sitting here watching City Slickers for maybe the Four thousandth time. As I am watching it I blurt out... " All I can think about is ... What Randall would I take along with me if I were doing this?"
Becky says. .. " This knife thing must have gotten 2 you. You may or may not have a problem now."
She's probably mostly right.

But really, its what I have been trying to figure out through most of the movie.

And she's already scheduled your therapy appointment if you like it or not.

You'd need a Thorpe Bowie to deal with Jack Palance!

Chief,
James' therapy appointment is from "12-9"? That sound like "not enough time" to me.
Best, Capt. Chris
PS: On my one and only horse-riding hunt, in Northern New Mexico, A carried a 4" Stanaback Special on my belt and a #27 in my pack.

Great movie! Why only 4000 viewings, James? grin

I'm not a "big" knife guy. For a cattle drive, I'd take something small for general use. Heck, I'm already packed... smile

4000 is probably on the low side LOL

I was thinking a #27 as well, however Tom is right. A big knife may not be ideal so a #5 or #3 in 5-6 inches would probably be my choice. however I could not go wrong with a Stanaback either.... especially if it was stag!

Great pic Tom THANKS!

Going on a cattle drive?
You gonna round up them doggies for branding or take them to market?
Round up time requires a Cattleman's Special for those "special" tasks.

It is something I would VERY much like to do... the work required of a Cattleman knife... not so much lol

James,

My family has owned horses since 1966 and I'd STILL like to go on a cattle drive! Willow Creek Ranch is a place that has been on my radar for over 10 years. The ranch offers cattle drives, but my interest is to ride a section of the famous Outlaw Trail over several days. My inspiration came from reading the only book ever written by Robert Redford.
