I started to post this in the SAK part of the folding knife section but a SAW doesn't fold or cut like a SAK so here's where it is.

Swiss Army is now made up of Victorinox and Wenger. I Have owned some of both with different degrees of satisfaction with the quality.

Do you have a preference? If so tell us why.

Tom,

Never owned the watch. I've lots of different SAK mostly the pen knives that had company logos imprinted. I recall I had them from both companies. The only difference to me was the shield.

Maybe Wenger is better (based only on my experience with the quality and design of the scissors in the knives). Twice I had issues with the flimsy Victorinox scissors springs: one worked its way out and was lost; the other simply broke. (Had to wait until I got to a knife store in order to replace both.) Never a problem with the beefier (and more dependable) Wenger design.

Hey Tom,

Bought this and a few more for family members, maybe 15 years ago? Not sure,
but it has given good service. Just a battery and a new band over the years.

You know, I bought that watch and a few others - two that my Wife has and one
I think we gave as a gift to a family member - from Smokey Mountain Knife catalogue.
Obviosly a close out deal because ... here it comes ... $59.99 !! Had I known what a deal that was,
I woulda bougt a few more and definitely gave ya one !!
Check out the prices on their web site! ... But ... on Amazon there are many models starting at $51.00.
