This is what I gave my son for Christmas. The Turnbull Ruger MkIV. Turnbull Manufacturing purchased a number of these guns and turned them into masterpieces. They put a case hardened finish on the barrel and I assume a new blue finish on the receiver. These are outstanding guns and came in a limited number.
Great .22 with 10 clip mag's too! Never seen that one before; Doug Turnbull did a great job with that gun. Sure that your Son was happy with that gift!

Thanks guys and yes Turnbull is a magician. I sent them a 1911 that had been reblued and you can imagine how it looked. When it came back it was just amazing.

Ronnie can you can you post a pic of the 1911. I have a 1913 Mod but after talking to them they said it was in to good a condition for them to redo it. I am still not sure what to do.

My gun had been refinished so it was a prime candidate for a Turnbull job. This photo is from Turnbull of my gun after they refinished it. They sent me several photos before they sent the gun. I'm looking for another 1911 now to restore. Hope this helps.
Eric whether that gun needs refinished or not is up to you. The gun looks great as Tracer said. However if you want it to be new then send it to Turnbull. On the one hand I suppose it changes the value to restore but if you have a Turnbull restoration you will get your money back and more. I paid 800 for the 1911 I sent them. I paid them 1800 to restore and sold the gun for 3 grand. I probably could have gotten more for the gun but was made an offer so I took it.
