The hogs came on Saturday night and rooted up a substantial plot of our St. Augustine grass.

I had no choice but to put Ricky on "Hog Patrol" the last 3 nights.

He kept us up all night Sunday and Monday nights as they kept coming back. But last night, a little episode at about 10:00 pm was all it took.

I reckon that they finally learned to associate Ricky barking with the gunfire that would follow. Kilt 4.

Attached are pictures of the damage and Ricky's GPS tracking for the last 3 nights compared with a map of the whole place. As you can see, he has been working hard!

This post would not be complete without a couple pictures of our HERO!

The first picture is of a tired dog taken right at daylight.

The second picture was taken after I got my coffee and a pocket full of treats.

Wow, so glad there are no wild pigs around here. Great dogs are a blessing. He couldn’t look happier.

That Ricky sure makes tracks!

I guess he deserved the day off.

Of the 4 that I killed, a couple were 200+lbs. I hauled them off to a hay meadow a half mile away for the buzzards to dispose of.

I was over there today mowing on my tractor and noticed that “something” had dragged all them over 100 yards through the thick grass to a thicket in the woods.
