Question:
Why do Randall sheaths have the retaining strap coming over the sharp edge of knife rather than over the blunt spine were it won't get cut when drawing in/out?
Am I missing something?
I guess there is logic, just can't figure it..
cheers, Wayne

Is it because not all knives have a double guard?

On the older ones yes. The newer ones 1,14,15,18, Sullivan moved to the other side.

The quick answer is RMK doesn't have the room for more sheaths , the knives that are primarily double hilts, the sheaths have the strap coming from front to back and the other knives have sheaths that the strap comes back to front to handle both double and single hilt knives.

Thanks for replies.
Sullivan's certainly are Craftsmen/Women. Their fit, finish and function sure show up some other Manufacturers short comings.

Unfortunately, some other Makers efforts are so impractical, those knives just don't get carried due to not being user friendly.

They may have the latest you beaut steel and options,(heated handles etc) but if it doesn't come together as a package, it stays at home, not on my Hip..
