Of course, the 7 and 8" models are the oldest of the twos. I suspect the 6" version was close behind. So, any ideas when the first 4 and 5" models showed up?

Wally,

Offhand I can only remember about the 5" version. First showed up in the 1948 catalog. An early one with CJ Moore sheath came up on e-bay in September of 08:

Thanks for the replies, gents. Tune, your catalog is dated '44, is that right? The 4 inch version must be much more modern, in my extremely limited experience I don't recall seeing a 4" made in the early 70s, or before. Whos got the oldest 2-4?

I finally found the answer (in print) for when the model 2 became available with a four inch blade. I don't have a 1972 printing, but that's suposed to be the first year it appeared in the catalog. A riveted JRB sheath would be a treasure!

I saw this boot knife in the case at the Shop in the late 1970's, if I recall correctly. I had never seen one that small before, and I bought it.

Here is a 1970's ??? Model 2 4 with Westinghouse micarta with 1/8" Carbon blade stock. The sheath has the keeper strap snap installed on the metal clip. Not sure how old. Last 2 pic's include a 1990's 2-4 with 3/16 Stainless blade stock. Blade Choils and hilt thickness are different.

This is the oldest #2-4 that I have. The sheath is not correct. Been searching for a proper one.
