I am starting a new thread for Don Hedrick's knives.
I received my first mini, yesterday, and I have seen a number posted before.
When you have a chance, post your mini or other knives crafted by Don,here.
thanks
Peter

I own a small number of Don's exquisite knives, all of which are Randall minis.

My favorite among them is this one, which like what Peter showed, is a clone of a specific Bowles Skinner:

Here it is with Bowles Skinner #264:

Thanks guys:
Ken: Your pair looks as though it could have come from the same piece of ironwood. Extremely close match! Of all the minis I have seen from Don, the size and shape of this one looks to be the best "user-friendly" one.
I hope someone gets in touch with Don and convinces him to post up here. It would be interesting to hear his comments. I would love to have a couple for EDC's in pouch sheaths! Thanks to both of you for posting.
Best, Capt. Chris

Hi Guys, just saw the new thread and all your very kind comments! Don`t quite know what to say except, thank you very much! To be included on a site that features "Real Randalls" is quite an honor! I would like to publically thank Randall Knives, and all the guys at the "factory" who consistently turn out the knives that I am priviliged to try to copy in miniature! I don`t make all the models that Randall makes, some are just too hard to try and duplicate. Captain, the fact that the Ironwood was a decent match on Ken`s RB Skinner was just dumb luck! I have some very nice Ironwood that I hand picked from a dealer in Az. a few years ago but you never know what it`s gonna look like until it`s on the knife and polished. Ironwood is best viewed in direct sunlight. I would post some pictures but I`m embarrased to admit I have received an Adobe Photoshop program from Dr Lunde that I`m scared to death to try and put in the computer! I`m much more comfortable in front of a Bader Grinder than I am in front of a computer! I will be happy to email pictures of knives I have made cause I know how to do that. Thanks again for all the kind comments! Don

Hi Guido, I used to do what Rick Bowles called "Micro Minis" about 3" over all and the small stamp was the one I used on them. Some years back I started making the Mini`s which vary in size up to 6" or 7". I used the same stamp on some of the early ones. Eventually the small stamp got dull and I had to get a bigger one. If you have a "small stamp" your knife is an early one. I did have some blades that I ground that were stamped with the small stamp that were finished some years later after I had started using the bigger stamp. Almost sounds like the Randall Shop & sheaths etc. I never planned it that way it just happened. I also realize that some of the mini`s are not "Period Correct" as far as spacers, and grinds, and handle pins are concerned. It has, and still is a learning experience for me. Rick Bowles has been a real help critiqueing?....don`t know if that`s a word or not, some of the ones I make, as some of them I have only seen in Bob Gaddis`s book. I have learned a lot from the various forums about different variations of Randall`s. It`s hard to do some of the various grinds, Sasquatch comes to mind:-) I apologize for rambling but when your 73 it happens a lot! Thanks for your interest! Don

I put this up on the Triathlete thread but I'm afraid it will get lost and this is simply too cool to lose!

Just when I thought I had seen everything, you pull out another spectacular collection of knives.
Don is a true craftsman and makes incredible minis.
