My wife Denyse and I have spent the past 31 days walking (Denyse) and cycling (me) from Lisbon, Portugal to Santiago de Compostela, Spain. 2 of the 31 days were rest days. The route is called the Portuguese Camino.
Denyse carried her backpack and I had 2 panniers and a bar bag. Everything we needed, clothes, spare parts, etc., we carried. We each had three changes of clothes and washed our clothes each evening in a sink or shower.
Denyse has a fit bit and recorded 1,025,908 steps. That number was just while walking the Camino. My GPS says I cycled/walked/carried my bike 682 Kms and we had 10,500 meters of elevation change.
We are thankful for a safe trip and to have the health to be able to do this.

So happy for the two of you, brother! Is this only #2 for y’all, Rod or have you pedaled more as Dynse ran along side? I’m happy you’ve each been blessed with the good health to enjoy this wonderful excursion.

Thank you all for the comments.
Mike I did not pack any RMK. Reasons: weight and I did not want it to go missing on our airplane travels. I had a Swiss Army knife and a leather man. We carried what we thought was the absolute minimum.
Duke. This was Denyse’s 4th Camino and my second. We were not together every minute of the each day. I might go off and explore or take a more bike friendly route for a few Kms. When you have to start carrying your bike and panniers because of steps, ankle deep sand, hills too steep, elevators that don’t work or you can’t fit your bike into, etc., you try to save as much energy as possible. But we spent every night and ever meal together.
Denyse has a meniscus problem (likely a tear) so I was never too far from her, just in case.
