David's image (text) in the joke thread reminded me of something I thought you would enjoy.
Meanwhile, here in Colorado
Two of our kids (and our grandkids) moved to Colorado back in August. This was based on "oh it's so pretty!" when we took a big family vacation in Breckenridge in June.
The biggest driver of this plan is our daughter-in-law. She was raised migrant with her mom bouncing around all of the time. Any time she (our daughter-in-law) is settled someplace for more than a couple of years, she gets a serious case of "grass is greener" and starts longing to be someplace else.
side note: she hasn't done this with her hubby, they still completely adore each other and hit their 10yr anniversary earlier this year. Her "restless location syndrome" seems to be isolated to where she's living.
They finally sold their house in Texas a week ago and closed on their Colorado house last Friday. The new place is in Evergreen, which is west of Denver with 2000ft higher elevation and a lot more snow days.
They've been pestering us to move to Colorado as well ever since they decided to make the move. We just timidly reply, "we're good, thanks."
What's really happening is this: aside from the goofy liberal politics pushed onto everyone by Denver and Boulder, we're waiting for their first winter to kick in. Then we'll see what they think. She's never lived any place that had a real winter and they've committed to living through at least one.
