Pap,
Orem's,now relocated,is the only original place left in town.

Was thinking of you the other day when my issue of Smoke Jumper magazine came. Was an article in there about White's boots. Pretty much THE standard for Smoke Jumpers and loggers in the Pacific Norrthwest.

Another standard is the Ruana Smoke Jumper knife (Model 10B) which I have had for many years.

I had a custom Smokejumper made about 15 years ago, it has a brass parry strip and wrist thong hole, plus a flap sheath. Great little carry knife.
Did I send you a copy of my Lookout tower article? Can't remember.

Pappy,
No,I did not get the article.

A couple of years back,I sent my Smoke Jumper back to Ruana to have thumb notches put on the blade.

Came back a week later with the notches but they also polished/cleaned it up and sharpened it.

Typical Ruana service/quality.

55 this morning while watering my flowers. In the 90's here all week, possible thunderstorms anytime. Still green so far, but with this heat, won't take long to turn brown. My tomatoes are loving it.

37c today here in my part of England and forecast to reach 41c tomorrow, the weathermen are expecting an all time record high to be set.
It’s Florida heat without any air conditioning frown

Do whatever is necessary to stay cool. Heat stroke is very serious.

Neale--

That would be exceptionally hot in Florida, probably new records for most of the state.

But it is commonplace in Arizona etc.

Roughly 99 to 106 F in Colorado language.
We are hitting 100 F, 38 C, today and I am living in the cool basement with the air conditioning set.
Stays about 70 F, 21 C, and feels comfortable.
Humidity is about 21 percent, so we feel a little muggy, but nothing like Florida Keys at 65 percent today.

STAY COOL
