OK Crew,
I'm fixin' to put it "In The Wind" for a couple of days. I'm going to visit Duke in Gulf Breeze and do some horse-tradin'. Wish me luck.
Right now the stag is happening and several members have chosen a preference for slab sides. I care not what we build. There are advantages and a couple of "not-so-much" to keep in mind.
Advantage is smooth, dressed stag is giving a scrimshander a blackboard to work with so lots of room for artwork! Slabs also make the knife more ambidextrous. It allows men with smaller hands a more secure grip, being that it removes some of the girth (circumference) from around the handle
Disadvantage is removing some character from the stag. Also: The advantage for small hands swaps to too small for large ones.
....Just some things to think about as I ask for a: "ROLL CALL VOTE"!
Vote for one:
A) Slab it Captain!
B) " The Beatles" Captain...(Let It Be)!
Stay Sharp, Capt. Chris
