He laid around on the porch all day yesterday so I gave him the night off last night.

I also poured a little sweet milk on his dog food.

He was glad to sleep in his bed in the shop next to Ruby and all of the cats.

Had to put him back on patrol this week. A Norther had blown in late last week and my Bride did not want her dogs out in the cold.

Well, they came back, the weather warmed, and she changed her mind after the hogs rooted up half the yard. Some of the damage was right outside our bedroom window.

They ain't been back since Ol' Ricky went back on patrol on Saturday night!

Yesterday afternoon was absolutely beautiful. My Bride wanted to take a golf cart ride around the place to take a last look at the beautiful Fall colors.

Coming out of the woods into my hay meadow, there they were! I snapped a picture of these 14. After we came on out, there were 4 BIG monsters about 40 yards to the left of these.

Texas considers them to be a pest, yes.

No season, no restrictions (other than safety-based taboos).

No hunting license needed, either.

Should have had a rifle with you. If you can take a picture, you can take a shot. Like eating an elephant, one bite or one piggy at a time!

If it had just been me, I would have had a rifle.

But my Bride said she wanted to go see the pretty colors of Fall one last time before they are gone.

Sometimes you just have to take a cue !
