the material size is BIG....I'm not say'n anything, BUT I don't have anything in my stash that size....maybe the Capt doesn't either....maybe he does...it's not something that would necessarily be "stashed"....BUT I'm not privy to the Capt's stash...just an observation....PLUS the cost of the material....I'm sure no one expects the Capt just to throw it in....
The new shop wood is fairly nice...actually very nice....other wise we will need to do some shopping, then get approval, then buy....then, then, then...makes you wish for some Ivo....darn it!!! almost said the "I" word...speaking of....

The Captain has it or can get it i'd bet!
As for the cost that's what I meant by springing for it.
I appreciate this forum & the people here, so I don't mind spending
a little for this one.

The Captain does, "indeed" have it..."BUT"...(There's that word again)...I won't use Osage ever again. Way too soft and "dings" up worse than maple. If everyone who bought numbers would throw in $5.00 each, we'd have the wood covered.
Best, Capt. Chris
PS: I was down at Gene Beal's shop, this past week, just to see how much handle material I have there. Over 2,000 pieces...and more than here in The Captain's "STASH"...Just sayin', CCS
PPS: It was already stabilized when I bought it...9 years ago...Black French Walnut...!!!

There's stabilized Osage Orange out there and many purist Bowie makers use it, Bill Bagwell for one. If we are making a one off, none like it anywhere.
