Taking your dog with you to a restaurant where he/she is welcome is a little les common, then in the past. But there are still enough places were you can take your dog. Some even have water standing ready. If a restaurant has a terrace then it is almost never a problem. When I was a child my parents always toke the dog with us and rarely we weren't allowed. It was a very smal dog, maybe that helped? Germany is also very dog friendly.

I had heard that Germany and France were very dog friendly.

In my opinion,I don't see a very big health hazard with a dog in a restaurant.

Again, and this my opinion,I have seen a lot of humans that were more dirty than any dog.

Reminds me of some time ago when a woman heard that our dog,Luvvy, would sleep with us.

Now,Luvvy was a fairly big girl (shep/Lab mix,100 lbs) and pretty much took most of the bed/blankets.

She commented" You let a filthy dog sleep with you?"

My reply was,"Lady you're no bed of roses yourself"

She then walked a way in a huff.

I guess you know by now that I am not politically correct.

Haha, our dog lays on our bed also. I just like you don't care what people think about it and would give a similar reaction.

I would pretty much venture to say that most folks that have cats and dogs as pets usually have them on or in their beds.

Even camping,Luvvy would just get into the sleeping bag with me (fortunately it was a very big sleeping bag).

No problems and she did not even get fleas from me!!!!!!!!!!

Sphinx,
Yep,14 camping trips to Canada, two trips across Canada and the US,many small trips up to Canada to visit with my father in law.

She was my companion in field and stream and loved to go into the canoe.

She was not a trained bird dog but I would just watch her body language in the field. She could spot game long before I could ever think of it.

Spoiled? Nah,not a chance!!!!!

A dog is truly a man's best friend! Never trust a man (or women) who doesn't like dogs laugh

That pretty much is my thought as well.

I have friend who would not hire any applicants if his dogs did not like them.

Dogs are a great judge of character.
