Excellent, excellent movie and one of my favorites!

Billy Bob Thornton's original cut was nearly 4 hours long and followed the book closely. The book was written by Cormac McCarthy, who also wrote, "No Country For Old Men". The producer of the film, Harvey Weinstein, insisted that the run time be cut to under 2 hours. Billy Bob was devastated and the forced editing destroyed what could have become a masterpiece.

Hey Tom,

I would like to see the long version.

That country around that ranch is very similar to the country around Guanajuato where my college roomate’s father owned an interest in a ranch.

Hi Coach,

I'd love to see a director's cut too, but it's probably not going to happen. Here's an article that you will find interesting. Link

I have a copy of ‘Song of the South’ on DVD. Love Briar Rabbit and Uncle Remus. I still enjoy the story but I understand why Disney will probably never re-release it. Oh well, back to my happy place.

One of my all time favorites, which just happens to have Billy Bob Thornton in it is Sling Blade. Great story and great acting.
