Hi everyone,
We have been donated a terrific prize, to be raffled off on this forum, for the benefit of Robert Welch. I'll let the "donor" explain all about it. My job is simply to "tighten the bolts".
This fly rod-n-reel combination is, what is referred to as, a "Traveler". Being long and difficult to carry on fishing trips, "travlers' were designed to break down into 3 or 4 rod sections. This allows the outfit to become more manageable and diminish the chances of breakage.
The travler combo includes the following:
* 4 piece rod
* Fly reel
* Floating fly line
* Backing
The raffle will run for a week or so and (hopefully) be a "sellout"! Each raffle number will cost you $12.50..2 numbers for $25.00. I realize there is no "discount" at those figures..."BUT"...(There's that word again)...you can choose "5 for $50.00!!
You can send a check or money order (prefered method, so as not to piss-off our Pay that pays)or pya, via Paypal to the RKCC account. Here's all of the contact info.
Snail Mail to:
Capt. Chris Stanaback
Attn. RKCC "Fishin' Funds"
11100 SW 93rd Court Road
Suite #10-357
Ocala, Fl. 34481
Paypal to:
rkcclub@aol.com
Thanks to all for your participation and to "The Bomb" for his generous donation. Let's roll!
Best, Capt. Chris

I ask Capt. Chris to do this anonymously but I see it is going to need some help so I will add this.

The Temple Fork Outfitters rod is new as is the Ross reel (spooled with new line and tippet). It's a 6 weight rod so don't take it to the coast. I bought it for fishing the streams in the Texas Hill Country. Just can't get away from fishing at Caddo Lake in Deep East Texas where it is a little light.

The rod has a transferable life time warranty. My bud Sgt. Doug (a Christmas Knife active duty recipient) bought the same rig. It was in the trunk of his vehicle when he was rear ended by a driver doing 70 mph. Sgt. Doug is ok but the rod was crushed. Temple Fork gave him a new one.

I share the same last name with Robert but my folks originated in Alabama, his farther north so we may or may not be related. Never the less I want to help a brother in a bind.

The rod & reel are already boxed up waiting to put your name and address on it.

Go for it.

I'm in for #s: 7-17-27-37-47...and now (drum roll)...A "KICKER"! Original Remington Model R1306, in it's original box, with it's original wrapper and Remington paperwork. Never re-sharpened and brand-ass new!
The folding, lockback knife is commonly known as the "Tracker" series and is my absolute favorite EDC...PERIOD!! These knives were made up until 2008 by Camillus and the stainless is as sweet to sharpen as any carbon steel blade! The knife weighs just 5 ounces and the blade is 3 1/2 inches in length. The blade shape is a traditional clip point and the top (false) edge is "not" sharpened, making it legal almost everywhere.
My EDC Remington Model 1884 Tracker is the exact same knife, except in delrin bone. This 1990 edition is in "staglon", a synthetic handle material made to look like stag or worm bone. It holds up well, cleans easily and maintains it's luster lasts for years. Like almost all of these Remingtons, the delrin has developed a crack, just rear of the wrist thong. No big deal. They all do.
Hope you like it and thanks for joining in the fun!
Stay sharp, Capt. Chris

There are just about enough entries to clear the cost of the rod & reel. Now that Capt. Chris has sweetened the pot I look forward to some more participation. laugh
