After seeing Buckspen’s excellent Model 19 with two security straps on the sheath, I was intrigued so much that it inspired me to make a second strap for my Model 5 sheath without permanently modifying the belt loop. I copied the existing security strap as close as possible (width, thickness, color, finish, tooled border line) so the new strap would match. The strap goes through the belt loop. For a custom fit, I wet formed it around the handle and belt loop. Works well for additional security and is easily removable.

Thanks for looking! smile

Pete put on another strap for my old #5-5 a long time ago and mine has a little more wear than yours. I always liked the 2 strap setup especially going through brush, the crossover strap catches on branches and gets unsnapped. That's one reason I like a pouch sheath over all; easier to do the old "in and out" and no worries about keepers not keeping.

Yep, same idea, same function - except I didn't want to permanently cut the slots.

Thanks for the photo!

Thanks everyone.

Buck, thank you for posting your #19 and giving me the idea. That is one beautiful knife and sheath you have there.

Thank you, Tom. I have yet another #19 coming from Steve Zimmerman (probably today!). I hope it is as nice as the first one.

Buck,

Looking forward to seeing a photo of your new #19. I see that Steve has a nice selection of #19s right now.

Here another kind of additional security strap made by Master Greg Gutcher on an Mod.#28 pouch sheath: on the left the PT as prototype, on the right the only one made, as this new thing wasn't accepted by the Shop.
Personally I do. What about you ??
