I am saddened to bring this news. Just as I wish Jimmy a Happy Birthday, I also send my best wishes and condolences to Jere Baxter and the entire family upon hearing of the passing of Dubie Baxter. It was a pleasure to know Dube as I am sure more will share following me in this posting.
To say that Dubie was "one-of-a-kind" is truly an understatement. God bless you Dubie and, in your spirit life, I bid you "fair winds"...
Respectfully submitted, Captain Chris Stanaback

Very sad news, Captain. I never met Dube, but always enjoyed his posts.

Sincere condolences to his family.

I am saddened to hear the news of Dubie's passing.

My first meeting was when I purchased a Model 21 from him off of ebay. We opted to meet up at a diner in Bartow, where both my wife and myself had the pleasure of meeting him.
After the meal we went out to the trunk of his Mercedes, and he pulled some primo Randall's out for show and tell. He LOVED those knives.

Below is a picture of a small momento he sent me from a past Gator show, when at the most appropriate time, Cap had introduced his "Cracker" Model 8.

Rest in peace my Cracker friend, you will be truly missed.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Dubies passing.
I was only saying to my wife how I had not been able to get an email through to his normal address for some time and wanted to have a catch up with the old boy.
I have been travelling to Orlando pretty much every year for the past 30 years,I have been visiting the Randall shop since 2002,I met Dubie for the first time in 2003 and always made sure I visited him in Winter Haven on each trip since then,I missed out last year,I really wish I had made a bigger effort now.
He showed me and my family parts of Florida that a normal tourist would never get to see,his local knowledge and pride was all consuming,he was a true Florida gentleman.
God bless you old friend,I will miss you.

These photos of Dubie are courtesy of Neale. Good times, no doubt.
Best, Capt. Chris

Glad I got to speak with him at length last
Summer; Dubie always made me laugh.
It was February 2008 that Dubie and planned to meet at the shop during my vacation. From there Dubie drove us to Titusville to see Marie and Perry Miller. We had lunch at the little roadhouse place next door, just down home cooking. Dubie had his then newly acquired 3-4 and left it with Perry to authenticate. A great day, I remember every minute of it. I have some pics I hope somewhere. RIP my good friend.
