A week ago, my wife and I were in Machu Picchu, Peru.

Here are a few photos:
1st photo is of the blue eyed dove I saw in Lima. Never seen one like that before.
2nd photo: looking back down into the valley. You cross the dual bridge on a bus, to get to the top.
3rd photo: Machu Picchu with Huana Picchu in the back ground. If you want to climb Huana Picchu, it is another $75.00 USD or so. We did not climb it.
4th photo: The terraced walls that you find at most Inca ruins.

Fantastic pics and the descriptions really help me noodle what I am seeing. The Incas were quite a unique Empire. My understanding was that they never discovered the wheel. Good thing Detroit didn't have Llamas. Thanks, Rod. Where are you thinking of going next?

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Eric the next trip, big(ish) one, will be to Blade. Then this summer a road trip to western Canada and if I can fit it in, cycle to the east coast of Canada this fall.

We are kind of leaning to go back to South America next winter, perhaps Ecuador and the Galapagos, with some Spanish classes on the side.

I wanted to add these two pics last night, but they were on my wife's camera.

The first pic is of a "bumble bee orchid". I did not see it, but my wife, Denyse, says it is about the size of a dime.

The second pic was taken at the "Sun Gate". If you trek into MP, you will enter via the Sun Gate. You can see MP on the left of the pic, left of Denyse, in the distance, as well as the road, I took on the bus. The road starts at the bridge, that I took a pic of in my second photograph above and winds its way uphill to MP.
