Stephen,
The Randall Triathlete is a non-cataloged skeleton knife that is offered by the shop as seen below. The only available option is name etching. The beautiful handle and pin treatments are aftermarket applications. As such these are altered knives and not covered under warranty.

Rick,

I can understand that the handles would not be warrantied since that only makes sense. What about the blades themselves?

Rick,
Once a Randall knife has been altered, not only is the warranty voided but the shop will not work on them in any fashion including refinishing.

Here's a couple of old photos of one of my favorites. I'll post some new shots later on this week. This one is handled in Mammoth tooth!
Best, Capt. Chris

Buffing compound and an electric buffer 3 years ago and it still looks like this.
Thanks, Capt. Chris

Can you still order this knife? I looked through the on-line catalog and did not see it. I just won one on Gunbroker for 295. I hope it is real. It looked good to me but, I am no expert for sure.

Absolutely Sidney:
I just picked up an order with a couple of them. Catalog price (well..."non-catalog" price) is now: $240.00. It includes the knife as pictured in Rick's recent post here and a black sheath with a boot/belt clip.
Best, Capt. Chris

OOOOOOOOOooooooooo! That Mammoth tooth is just gorgeous! The Triathlete is still available though not listed in the non-catalog offerings for lack of space. Kalervo, I believe the Mammoth tooth handle material is, and needs to be, stabilized.

Correct Rick. I neglected to mention that this was indeed stabilized. It will still give you fits, i.e. chip, crack, make it tough to work with (like a rock), etc. I think it's worth it. Guido got my last one and I haven't been happy ever since..."Hence" this one here. It's in...and "staying" in the safe, so don't even think about it, Guido!
Best, Capt. Chris
