I'd like a stainless steel blade, stag handle with the standard r/w/b spacers, flat top single brass hilt, wrist thong and a compass.

Capt., can we get a wrist thong and a compass in a 3/16 knife?
I think that from a certain size of the handle down the shop won't install both...

Both a compass "and" a wrist thong can ordered on this knife (I just got off the phone with Scotty, double-checking). Many times a knife will get made with handle material which is too small to allow both options. Almost always this is a 3/16" stock knife. If the order is for stag and all options are listed, there is no problem.

So Dan's version would work - it sounds interesting to me
I'd add thumb notches as well, though.
Does stag develop problems in wet conditions?

1) NS square hilt(getting brass wet means polishing)
2) Maroon micarta sounds good

Maroon micarta looks good with brass, IMO. With standard spacers we could even go for a BPH. And thumb notches and a thong hole ...

Well...I think this wraps up all of the "old builds" we have/had going on. This one needs finishing. Here's what we have (for sure) so far:

Stainless blade
#6 grind
