Did Mr.Stidham ever manufacture/collaborate on any knives? Just picked up a 3 bladed folder. Markings are: Hand Forged 550, Stidhams knives, Belpre Ohio, Solingen Germany. It appears to be a well made slip joint, very tight, 3 1/2" main blade, 4 1/2" stag handle, 3 pins, nickel bolsters, stainless? dog head emblem on stag. Am having trouble loading pics. Will get some up if anyone thinks it's worth a look. My condolences to all of you who lost a friend.

CTK,

Does it look like this one?

You might try asking Bernard Levine about Stidhams. He knows a lot about pocket knives.
