With hunting season upon us I thought I'd post some pics of a plant that's popular with whitetail deer. This is strawberry bush (Euonymus americanus), aka bursting hearts, hearts-a-bustin, etc. It's found from Texas to Florida to New York. According to the
plants.usda.gov website, "Strawberry bush may be considered an important indicator of deer presence because it virtually disappears in areas overstocked with deer."
