OK, might not work if you're with a group, but keep in touch, nonetheless, who knows.

We went out on the Jackson trail today, but it was in the upper 80's which was a little warm for the dogs. Leaves are about halfway out and some flowers are blooming already. Not very buggy, and low humidity. It was nice to get out in the sun, but like it cooler.
Here are the latest pictures

We went for a short hike today, temperature in the 40's and very windy and saw a little sleet, I want spring again.
Last picture is where the new gas line was put in by the stream.

Hi Pap

They are plastic tubes, and it appears that some kind of tree is growing inside. I think the tubes are there to keep the deer from eating them until they get established, but I am not sure why they are only located adjacent to where the gas line crosses the stream and not elsewhere.

Interesting. I do alot of erosion control/prevention and I had not seen this type of tube protection devices before. It would appear that they would keep the deer away but as soon as the tips of the vegetation appear above the tubes, the deer would eat them off. I much prefer to use an established "root ball" installed and then you don't have to worry much about the deer eating so much that the plant dies. Anyway, thanks for the pics and response.

Hi
It was a little warmer than the dogs like, but we went out for a hike today. The mountain laurel is flowering nicely, and there are even some blueberries that are going to be ripe soon, very early this year. I saw a small snake, but the picture didn't turn out.
