I agree that this stuff is complicated. Valerie even double-checked with GTR today, after Doug's call. Not everything is listed, catalogged or inclusive in this "Science of Randalls". So long as we get it right in the end...That's all that counts.

I think we effectively rat-holed this into a discussion about the how specifying silver furniture relates to chargeable options for the #25. The conclusion should probably be recorded in the 'Randall "ordering" questions' thread.

The consensus seems to be gravitating toward the #25-6", though there is still the question of what material to use for the hilt, butt cap, and spacers. I suggested silver, but nickel silver and brass should also be considered.

I own three #25-6" knives, with all three hilt and butt cap combinations (brass, nickel silver, and silver):

Silver hardware is a great idea and Stag on either is one great knife.

this may sound boring to some but its in keeping with his standards, (except for the bb.)
besides, I'm not sure BL made any dp's with blades longer than 4 inches, reasoning they would be too heavy and cumbersome for extended use.

with a 25/6 the drop point is the only similarity, not enough for a loveless inspired RMK, imo

I agree.
The 6" blade does not feel/look like a typical Drop Point.
The blade seems too "elongated."

I have been thinking the same thing, although I know Bob Loveless made some 4 1/2" drop points. I agree that the 6", heavy blade, would not be in keeping with the "Loveless" sized knives...but these builds are by majority vote and wants. We're a ways away from a role call. That's why it is good to hear everybody's input. I always encourage it. Thanks for yours...

I wasn't aware of the smaller nature of Loveless knives. I'd then vote for a #26 with #25 Handle. That should constitute one chargeable option, leaving four for stainless steel, hilt, and butt cap options.
