Thanks Tony...and "Good Morning" crew! Time to go back to work. (We have enough unemployment goin' on). Here's what we have left to do:
We have the luxury, do to your frugal choices so far, of talking about 3 possible options remaining to be used. We don't "have" to use any. A Model #5-8" with carbon blade, thumb notches, brass single "squared-top" hilt, brass and black spacers and a killer ringed gidgee wooden handle would make a fine package!
Still to be discussed:
A) Handle shape
B) Butt caps or plates
C) Compass
D) Wrist thong
E) Etching
F) Sheath choices
Anyone care to go first?? Photos might help...Thanks for your participation.
Best, Capt. Chris
PS: Here's some possibilities, in no particular order...CS

How about ...
FINGER GROVES. (Functional and will highlight the wood grain)
BRASS BUTT CAP (Balance for the long blade and looks great!)
WRIST THONG (Never hurts grin)
WAXED NO-HONE SHEATH.

I am leaning in the same direction of Tony

Can you do a brass crow's beak with Model 14 finger grooves?

And a wrist thong

"Crow's beak" butt cap is going to give you a #22 shaped handle, each abd every time, with the exception of a "stag" handle. If you want finger grips you can have the following:

A) Brass butt cap in 2 sizes and rounded or not.
B) Brass butt "plate"
C) "No" butt cap or plate
D) Compass installed
E) Wrist thong (with any of the above)

Scalloped, flanged, smooth, etc. butt caps, "coolies" etc. will not support finger grips.
Best, Capt. Chris

I am leaning towards voting for finger grooves, as Tony said to highlight the wood.
Secondly a brass cap, rounded as in the Capt's. first pic above.
I think that would still leave one option.

So...Do we have a consensus on this??

Model #5-8", "Camp and Trail"
Carbon steel blade
Brass single hilt
Squared top
Brass and black spacers
Ringed gidgee handle
Finger grips (RH or LH)
Brass butt cap
Rounded
Wrist thong

Let's "ROLL CALL" for this or any changes ya'll feel you'd like to see:

A) Make it the way it's written here!
B) Change it to __________ (fill in the blank)

Thanks for your input.
Best, Capt. Chris
