Hearing about Bob Loveless' passing got me to thinking. Bob was most certainly a custom knifemaking pioneer. I believe his most famous offering was still (and always will be) his drop point hunter. Bob made many styles but the drop point seems to stand out (and stick out in my memory) as his "trademark" or "signature" model.
A Loveless drop point was offered many ways. Many were full tang (exposed tang) construction and offered with just about any handle material you wished for. I have seen some hidden tang models as well.
I am curious if anyone would be interested in building a Randall knife (drop point, of course) as we are all thinking about this great knifemaker at this time. Let me hear from ya'. The choices would come from the following group of Randall knives:

A) Model #11, "Alaskan Skinner" (from 3 1/4"-5" blade length)

B) Model #25, "Trapper" (from 5-6" blade length)

C) Model #26, "Pathfinder" (4" blade length only)

D) Model #28, "Woodsman" (4 1/2" blade length only)

A #28 certainly would not allow for much creativity as it is not offered with many "options". It certainly is a dandy model...just not much for us to "build on". We could include other models. A "Combat Companion" has a drop point shape to the blade. A large and small "Gambler" as well. What do you folks think?
Best, Capt. Chris
