Another hike this morning, not to warm to start. We went on a flat trail for a while and then up a short but very steep hike to the top of the ridge. On the flat in the sunny spots were a lot of blueberries, and there was quite a few piles of bear scat with blueberries in them on the trail(picture attached). I heard some rustling in the brush about 20 yards away and briefly saw the head of a decent sized black bear who disappeared quickly.
I also saw the shed skin of what was likely a rattlesnake in this rocky section. A nice hike and the first bear that I saw this year.
Not bad for a Sunday morning.
