Another decent weekend hike, could have been sunnier though.
The ticks were terrible, but they are easy to see on the white dogs. Leave are starting to change, and again the number of mushrooms is still great this year.

The colors are near peak here in central PA, they may peak next weekend. It was a nice day on Sunday, so the woods were crowded for the first time in a long while. I keep running into these white dogs no matter where I go

Peter-

As usual, great pictures. Lucky fellow in getting to go hiking with your "buds" whenever you desire. Which Randall do you take on these hikes?? Do you also take a handgun? I expect that it is a day hike; do you take a lunch or just go for a couple of hours?

Hi Pap
Mostly I just go for a few hours, less than 10 miles. I will take some snacks for me and the dogs, and water for all of us in a 3 liter Camelbak, in case there are no streams on the hike. I normally have a Glock 30 .45 ACP with 230 gr hollowpoints with me on my hikes as PA is still pretty gun friendly. I either have a small Dozier or a Randall #15 single hilt as well as a Chris Reeve Sebenza as my EDC.
I try to get out for a hike every weekend that I can, since I can be in the woods in 15 minutes from my house and the dogs love to do more than the work week walks

Very interesting. Chris Reeve lives and has his shop in Boise, I am sure you know. I stopped by his shop a few years ago but he has moved to a larger shop. I will try and get over there the next time I get to Boise.

I had to travel and do some testing for work, so I didn't have time to post my latest pictures. You can see damage from the early snow.
Here are some with the end of the leaves and the next post will be from this past Sunday.

And yet some more hiking pictures. First picture is of a nice buck rub and the the rest show that the leaves are almost gone. Ticks are still bad, but having white dogs makes it easier to find them. They have the Lyme vaccine and are on preventative too. Too bad I am not

We got out again this weekend, I hadn't been on the Jackson trail in a while and it was rockier than I remembered. I saw another nice buck rub and some more downed trees from our early snow storm

Again, too cool, great pics, Peter. I really need to take some pictures when I am out in our Idaho area. I will try and do better.
