I'm actually building a Randall knife for Chris. For all of you that may not know, Chris works side-by-side with Greg, Fran and Danny at the leather shop. He wants one of my "Cracker" knives (which, by the way, Scotty showed me the first 2 completed ones this week..."WOW") and I'm "in negotiations" with Chris right now! He makes the majority (or helps to make) of the Randall order each and every month. He's an excellent craftsman! Best, Capt. Chris

OK Crew: This build is complete! Here's what I can do. I have an 8" "Hi-Ride" sheath in my stash. I can supply this sheath if Greg & Danny cannot get us a waxed one in a timely manner. Either way: Here's the final specs, just as a reminder: Model #5-8", "Camp and Trail" Carbon steel blade Brass single hilt Squared top Brass and black spacers Ringed gidgee handle Finger grips (RH or LH) Brass butt cap Rounded Wrist thong
Please send me (to my email...no PM's please)..CAPTSTANABACK@aol.com your top 3 number choices, in order of preference...from 1 to 100. I will notify the lucky winner in 1 week! This knife will be completed and ready for delivery around the "Fourth of July"! As soon as the winner is determined (and I know if they prefer left or right handed finger grips) I will submit the final specs to Randall. I want to thank everyone for their participation in this unique build. I want to especially thank Graham (and Kate) for giving us the ringed gidgee...nice touch!! Best, Capt. Chris

Thanks everyone for your excellent response! I winning number I chose was, because of his 4th consecutive NASCAR series champoinship, #48...Jimmie Johnson!! No one guessed it. The "closest to the pin" was a late entry. Fellow member, Larry W., who number was #44, gets the nod on this one. Congratulations Larry!! Get in touch and we'll work out the details. Thanks again to everyone who contributed to this excellent build...and of course to Graham for gettin' the lumber!! Best, Capt. Chris
Thanks for putting together such a nice build. And thanks to Graham for providing a beautiful piece of wood--and of a species that I would not otherwise have found and put on a knife!
Larry
