Great photo's Peter. I find myself gravitating to my #28 with the high-rise sheath as it feels very comfortable there all day. The only thing better would be a high-rise pouch sheath. Did you harvest any of the "shrooms" and if so, what are they?

Hi Pap
I didn't harvest any mushrooms yet, I am taking a short course on identifying mushrooms starting Thursday, so I may be keeping some for dinner in the future.

Peter,
Real nice pics. As always, you remind me it's time to "get out" again!
Cool sheath conversion!
Thanks for posting.

Peter, thanks for the tek-lok photos! That's a great rig.

I had never heard of the tek-lok. I really like it that it allows you to quickly and easily remove the sheath from your belt without having to unbuckle the belt (which can be awkward in public), and also to attach the sheath elsewhere like you've done.

A mushroom ID course is a good idea. I've decided to start paying more attention to the mushrooms I see. I'd like to learn more about them. One of the experts that I've been emailing sent me this photos link.

Mushroom Photo Index

And he recommended these books.

National Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Mushrooms

Mushrooms and Other Fungi of North America

Mushrooms Demystified

I just came across this interesting Ray Mears wild mushrooms video. (And I just learned how to embed YouTube videos grin)

I got out again yesterday, not so many blueberries on this trail, rhododendron were pretty nice in the valley and no laurel left. It is still strange hiking without the dogs, but perhaps when it is cool again, they can go for some short ones
