Hi Wally!

I'm very sorry to learn of the loss of Sgt. Shawn F. Hill, your former comrade. He sounds like he was quite a guy!

The war in Afghanistan is somewhat the "forgotten" war, being overshadowed by the conflict in Iraq.

As a Canadian, I strongly support the NATO effort in Afghanistan (called "Operation Enduring Freedom" by my American friends), and the sacrifices being made by our two thousand plus troops presently serving over there.

Once again my condolences to you and your colleagues.

Sincerely,

David

So sorry to hear about your comrade. It always hurts when it was someone you knew. I still don't go to the wall in D.C. to hard for me.

Wally,

We all mourn the loss of Sgt. Shawn Hill and will remember his family in our prayers. I am amazed how we keep producing so many heroes.

I was in a small town post office today mailing two packages to our Randall Warriors. Behind me an elderly lady stopped a young man in his early twenties to ask him how he and his family were doing. He replied that everyone was well. He then told her he was leaving in a few days for another 18 month tour of duty in Iraq. She was not able to speak but grabbed and hugged the young soldier like he was her own grandson.

From now on when I am delivering our packages to th post office I will remember that emotional exchange.

God Bless Our Troops!

Thank you again and to your most thoughtful group for supplying "goodie boxes" for Tredwell while he was in Iraq.
